Rock to Road recently published their industry outlook for 2019. They forecast that slumping oil prices and uncertainty over provincial spending will affect the Prairies this year.

Shantel Lipp also anticipates that the carbon tax could impact the amount of work the industry will be able to take on in the coming year.

On Jan. 11, 2019, SHCA sponsored Kendal Netmaker and his sister, Kendra, to speak at Mother Teresa Middle School.

Kendal had this to say:

“This amazing school truly cares about their students and I was able to witness how respectful the staff and students were to each other. It was beautiful. I want to thank Shantel Lipp from the Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association for sponsoring my sister Kendra Weenie and I to speak today.

Members of the Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association again have reason to toot their own horns.

Recently, our organization sponsored Saskatchewan entrepreneur and author Kendal Netmaker in his presentation for approximately 100 inner city Regina elementary students.

Board chairman Kevin Arneson joined me at Sacred Heart Community School in Regina where Kendal shared his story of perseverance and success. He overcame challenges and setbacks in his life and encouraged the students to follow their dreams and believe in themselves, much like he did when he was their age.
