Concordia University announced the launch of a new national network of universities focused on speeding experimentation and scaling effective approaches to skills development. FUSION, the Future Skills Innovation Network, will explore new ways to ensure that students graduating with a university degree will be ready for a world marked by rapid change.

The Government of Saskatchewan will invest $20 million in safety improvements across Saskatchewan’s provincial highway network in 2019–20.

“The tragic accident involving the Humboldt Broncos in April 2018 put the spotlight on intersection safety in Saskatchewan,” Highways and Infrastructure Minister Lori Carr said. “Our government is committed to completing safety improvements at not only the Highway 35 and 335 intersection, but throughout the province with a newly developed multi-year safety improvement plan.”

Following the failure of a newly constructed bridge in the RM of Clayton last fall, the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities and the Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure partnered through the Municipal Roads for the Economy Program to commission an inspection and structural assessment of bridges known to have similar design and construction.
