As reported in the Regina Leader-Post, in 2015, Keith Dunford was found guilty of causing the death of a young flag person, 18-year-old Ashley Dawn Richards, in a heavily signed construction zone near Midale.

He sought to appeal his jail sentence of two years less a day along with his conviction of dangerous driving causing death. The Sasketchewan Court of Appeal heard submissions on the case in October and issued its decision thiw week, dismissing both appeals.
