Crescent Point Energy is increasing its capital spending plan in 2017 to $1.45 billion, up from $1.1 billion this year. About 25 per cent of that spend will go to the Viking and Shaunavon resource plays in southwest Saskatchewan.
The remainder of the capital expenditure will go primarily to operations in the Williston and Uinta Basins.
The Senate committee on Transport and Communications released its interim report called Pipelines for Oil: Protecting our economy, respecting our environment at a press conference in Ottawa on December 7. During the past few months, the committee has conducted public hearings and fact-finding missions in Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver, Montreal, Saint John, Halifax and Port Hawkesbury.
