Young patients, parents, and their medical teams will have access to an innovative new space when the doors open at the new Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan, thanks to a generous a donation of $450,000 by Kelly Panteluk Construction Ltd.
The new Multidisciplinary Assessment Room in the Pediatric Outpatient Department will provide assessment space to help children at risk for issues related to genetic disorders, neuro-motor disorders, metabolic disorders and many other acute or chronic conditions.
“We are very grateful for the support of KPCL in helping to create such a unique space within the new maternal and children’s hospital,” says Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan. “KPCL’s generosity is helping to ensure that our new hospital has the leading edge facilities and equipment it needs to improve treatment for our province’s children and families.”
The space will allow professionals to work with children and assess their physical and emotional needs, and provide a space for members of the multidisciplinary team, such as physicians, nurses, occupational and physiotherapists, and speech-language pathologists to thoroughly assess children.
“We take great pride in supporting the communities we build within and are committed to improved access to healthcare services and infrastructure in Saskatchewan,” says Kelly Panteluk of KPCL Construction. “The Children’s Hospital of Saskatchewan will benefit families across the province and we are very excited to lend our support.”
“We extend our deep appreciation for KPCL and its generous contribution in supporting state-of-the -art care within the new maternal and children’s hospital,” says Mike Stensrud, Chair, Saskatoon Regional Health Authority. “This space will support our teams’ approach to multidisciplinary care and in developing an integrated plan of care.
