Saskatchewan’s highway crews and road builders are springing into action for the 2015-16 construction season.

A record $842 million budget means numerous construction sites are popping up across the province.  This budget includes $560 million allocated to major capital projects including twinning projects, passing lanes and overpasses.

Finning International Inc. announced last week it has reached an agreement to purchase the operating assets of the Cat dealership of Kramer Ltd. for approximately $230 million, subject to working capital adjustments. In 2014, the acquired dealership business generated approximately $275 million in revenue. Finning will become the approved Cat dealer in Saskatchewan in July of this year, subject to customary closing conditions. After a remarkable 70 years of service in Saskatchewan, the Kramer family has decided to retire from the equipment dealership business.

The 2015 SCA Summer Meeting registration is now officially open. This annual event is a great place for members to meet, network, attend sessions and enjoy some time out of the office.

The Saskatchewan Construction Association, together with the Saskatchewan Heavy Construction Association, the Regina Construction Association and the Saskatoon Construction Association, is offering members the opportunity to attend Go Productivity’s Construction Productivity 101 in one of two locations – Regina (May 21) and at the SCA Annual Summer meeting in Waskesiu (June 6).

There’s still time to register for our Friday, June 19 day of golf, fun and friends!

Join SHCA at the Dakota Dunes Golf Links, just outside of Saskatoon for one of our most popular annual events.

We’ll kick off the day with a BBQ-style lunch followed by a shotgun start for all teams at 1:00 p.m. Winners will be recognized and celebrated at the evening golfer’s banquet.
