Saskatchewan is growing, and so is the need for heavy construction – from starting new roads to serving industrial sites to the beginnings of neighbourhoods, buildings and other projects, there is always work to be done. Construction of all kinds consists of rapidly changing and diversifying fields of expertise, and that’s where our classification comes in. “Heavy” refers to the type of work our members do, which always involves heavy equipment. If earth needs to be moved, if a road is being built, or a commercial project is breaking ground, our members are working on that site. Heavy construction involves highly trained, skilled employees who must first complete the appropriate courses and training to work in the industry. To learn more about training or jobs:
